Every year, the Excellence in Teaching Awards are granted to 10 Utah public school teachers whose contributions in the classroom have profoundly influenced the lives of individuals or groups of children.
This award is named in tribute to Elaine Tzourtzouklis, a dedicated association leader who served as vice president and president of the Salt Lake Education Association and director of the Wasatch UniServ.
The UEA Robert "Archie" Archuleta Human and Civil Rights Award, named in tribute to the Utah civil rights icon Archie Archuleta, is conferred annually in conjunction with the Excellence in Teaching Awards at the Superstars in Education Banquet, which takes place each spring.
The UEA Honor Roll Award celebrates trailblazers and game-changers in public education, spotlighting exceptional contributions from legislators, media influencers, businesses, organizations, parents, and non-teaching individuals who have left an indelible mark on learning in Utah.
As a teacher, student success is at the heart of everything I do.
