Thousands of public educators showed up. We rallied, we emailed, we spoke out against HB 267: Public Sector Labor Union Amendments. And yet, the Legislature pushed forward, and the governor refused to veto it. I won’t sugarcoat it. This was frustrating, infuriating even. It felt like our voices didn’t matter.
But here’s the truth: Giving up guarantees they won’t.
Legislators are counting on us to feel defeated. They’re betting we’ll back down. But real change isn’t about winning one battle—it’s about staying in the fight. The more we show up, the harder we are to ignore. We’ve already proven our strength. Now, we have to keep going.
So don’t give up. Keep emailing. Keep calling. Keep showing up. Keep holding them accountable. They may have won this round, but the game isn’t over. And next time, we’ll be even stronger.
