Educators Know What Students Need. Let’s Say It Clearly.

Educators can strengthen public understanding and influence education decisions.

As Utah public educators, it can feel like our work and professional expertise are undervalued by the Legislature and in the broader culture.

We see schools close and funding decisions made that directly affect students and classrooms. At the same time, educators are sometimes portrayed in public discourse as “brainwashing students.” Meanwhile, literacy rates continue to decline, and the daily challenges in our schools are often misunderstood by those shaping education policy.

In an environment like this, it is easy to feel discouraged or unheard.

The Policy Ambassador Program offers a meaningful way to change that by empowering educators to engage directly with policymakers and clearly communicate what our schools, students and profession need. The program equips teachers with tools, support and guidance to advocate effectively and reinforce the importance of strong academics.

Through this work, educators are no longer speaking in isolation. We are building a collective voice that reflects our experience, professionalism and deep commitment to students.

Our voice matters. Now more than ever, it needs to be heard.
