Excellence in Teaching Awards

Every year, the Excellence in Teaching Awards are granted to 10 Utah public school teachers whose contributions in the classroom have profoundly influenced the lives of individuals or groups of children.

Nominations must be submitted or postmarked by February 9, 2024

We encourage, support, and celebrate the nomination of Black, Latin-/o/a/@/e/x, Asian American, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander educators, as well as LGBTQIA+ educators, veterans, people living with disabilities, and other educators with lived experience being part of marginalized communities.

Your Relationship to Nominee

Eligibility 

  • The nominee must be a licensed educator currently employed in a Utah public school.
  • Those nominating must use the official online nomination form or complete and mail a printable nomination form.
  • When submitting a paper nomination, please use no more than one additional page stapled to the nomination form.
  • When submitting online, please use 1,000 words or less.

Selection

A selection committee, which includes previous winners, assesses nominations to identify the ten award recipients. The winners in each area will be notified by Local Presidents and Regional Directors.
