Step Up and Lead: UEA Opens 2026 Election Declarations

From setting priorities to representing colleagues, UEA leadership positions put members at the forefront of public education advocacy.

The Utah Education Association is strong because it is governed by members, for members. Every victory for Utah’s public schools has come from educators stepping forward to lead. Now, it’s your turn.

Declarations of candidacy are open for UEA offices up for election in 2026.

Why Run for UEA Office?

Serving in a UEA leadership role is a powerful way to make an impact:

  • Shape UEA’s priorities and direction
  • Represent educators in your region and across Utah
  • Build power for your colleagues, your students, and public schools statewide

Who Can Run?

Any active member with at least three years of membership before the election is eligible.

Key Deadline: All declarations must be submitted by Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. MST.

Positions Up for Election

  • Statewide Offices: NEA State Director, NEA RA Successor Delegate At Large, Ethnic Minority Director
  • UEA Board of Directors: Color Country, Davis, Granite, High Desert, Jordan Canyons
  • Regional NEA-RA Successor Delegates: Alpine, Color Country, Davis, Granite, High Desert, Jordan Canyons, Northern Utah, Ogden Weber, Wasatch, Woodland Peaks

How to Declare

  1. Complete the Declaration of Candidacy form
  2. Submit by Jan. 14, 2026, 5:00 p.m. MST
