Under the guidance of the UEA Board of Directors, the Election Committee works diligently to create an organized, accessible election process for all candidates and members.
“By setting clear deadlines and encouraging member engagement, the Election Committee ensures every voice is heard and every vote counts," said UEA Election Committee Chair Annette Croucher.
What Does the UEA Election Committee Do?
The committee’s responsibilities, as outlined in the UEA bylaws, include:
- Issuing and validating petitions for elective office.
- Notifying candidates about petition status, campaign rules, and ballot procedures.
- Ensuring ballot validity and verifying election results.
- Notifying candidates of election outcomes.
- Addressing election challenges and providing recommendations to the UEA Board.
Key Election Dates to Know
Mark your calendars and participate! Here are this year’s critical election milestones:
- January 8 – Declaration of candidacy deadline (submit to the UEA Office by 5:00 p.m.)
- January 29 – Primary Election voting begins
- February 19 – Primary Election voting ends
- March 19 – General Election voting begins
- April 9 – General Election voting ends
Note: If a primary election is not required, it will automatically serve as the general election.
