The UEA encourages, supports, and celebrates the nomination of Black, Latin-/o/a/@/e/x, Asian American, Indigenous and Pacific Islander educators, as well as LGBTQIA+ educators, veterans, people living with disabilities, and other educators with lived experience as part of marginalized communities.

Eligibility

The nominee must have provided outstanding service to education, including but not limited to legislators, media members, businesses, organizations, parents and other individuals not currently in a teaching position.
Individuals or groups wishing to nominate an honoree may develop a file of documents substantiating the nomination to accompany the nomination form.
Provide a black and white or color photo.

The UEA Board of Directors carefully considers the award nominees. A winner is chosen and announced around April. The awards are presented at the Superstars in Education banquet.
