UEA-PAC Recommended Candidates

Utah’s midterm election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The candidates below have earned a recommendation from the Utah Education Association’s Political Action Committee (UEA-PAC) for seats in the Utah Legislature and on the Utah State Board of Education.

Recommendations come from UEA members. Utah public educators in local associations interview the candidates running for the Legislature, and UEA-PAC interviews the candidates running for the State Board of Education. The full recommendation process is described further down this page.

UEA-PAC recommends candidates in some races and not in others, and a few races have two recommended candidates. If your race is not listed, that is not a position against anyone running in it. UEA-PAC does not oppose any candidate for office.

  • House District 69 — San Juan, Grand, Wayne, Kane and Emery counties

State Board of Education

  • District 1 — Logan, Brigham City, Tremonton, Smithfield, Morgan and Summit County

Races without a recommendation are races where UEA-PAC has taken no position, for or against. UEA-PAC is funded 100% by voluntary contributions, not UEA member dues.

Candidate Recommendation Process

The UEA-PAC operates a rigorous and transparent process for endorsing candidates. Legislative candidates are interviewed by local association PACs, who then submit recommendations to UEA-PAC. For statewide offices and Utah State Board of Education positions, UEA-PAC conducts the interviews and makes recommendations directly.

How Candidates Qualify for UEA-PAC Endorsement

To be considered for endorsement, candidates must:

  • Complete a comprehensive questionnaire.
  • Participate in an interview process.

Incumbent legislative candidates who earned a 100% rating on the annual legislative scorecard are exempt from the questionnaire. UEA-PAC is funded 100% by voluntary contributions, not UEA member dues. UEA-PAC does not oppose any candidate for office.
