The Utah Education Association has named Kody Clyde of the Wasatch Education Association as its 2025 Area Representative of the Year. UEA President Renée Pinkney presented the award in recognition of Clyde’s exceptional leadership and commitment to his fellow educators.

A longtime UEA member and representative at Wasatch High School, Clyde recruited 17 new members last year alone. He also played a pivotal role in the HB 267 referendum, working tirelessly within his community to protect collective bargaining rights for Utah’s public workers.

“Kody embodies the heart of union leadership,” said Pinkney. “He builds relationships, grows our membership, and stands on the front lines to protect the rights of educators and all public employees. We are proud to honor his dedication to public education and the profession.”

Clyde’s efforts reflect the strength and impact of local leaders in advancing UEA’s mission to support educators and ensure every student has access to a high-quality public education.
