New director named in Jordan UniServ

The Jordan UniServ has appointed former Wisconsin educator Kirah Zeilinger as UniServ Director. She joins Kristi Critchlow serving the educators in the Jordan and Canyons School Districts.

Zeilinger spent the last 16 years as an educator and association leader in Wisconsin. Her association work includes service as a building representative, association state board of directors representative, NEA board of directors alternate, UniServ treasurer and most recently UniServ president.

“Throughout my career as an educator, I have always been a strong advocate for my students and teachers,” said Zeilinger. “I look forward to continuing advocacy work with the educators in the Jordan UniServ.”

Zeilinger taught in the Beloit School District in Wisconsin. She graduated with BS in education from University of Wisconsin-Platteville and has her special education certification from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She also participated in the NEA Pre-UniServ Academy.

“In 2010, Wisconsin educators lost our rights to collective bargaining. The way I interacted with my union changed and I became much more aware of how education and politics are intertwined. I plan to continue to advocate for education with our members,” she said. Zeilinger began her new assignment on June 15, 2022.
