Jennifer Boehme named Utah Education Association executive director

The UEA Board of Directors announced the appointment of Utah educator Jennifer Boehme as executive director. She spent the past four and a half years as director of the Jordan UniServ where she was an advocate for educators in the Jordan and Canyons School Districts.

“Jennifer was selected from a field of very qualified applicants,” said UEA President Heidi Matthews. “She brings a wealth of experience in association leadership and advocating for Utah teachers. Jennifer’s background and experience will be valuable in our association’s ongoing work to advance the cause of Utah public education.”

Prior to her position as Jordan UniServ Director, Boehme worked 24 years as a sixth-grade teacher in Jordan School District. She served as elected president of the Jordan Education Association from 2010 to 2016 and is a 2016 UEA Excellence in Teaching Award winner.

“I have been passionate about public education my entire career,” said Boehme. “I want educators and students to be successful and look forward to continuing this work for the amazing educators throughout Utah.”

Boehme has a degree in elementary education from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah. She begins her assignment June 21. She replaces Brad Bartels who served as the Association’s executive director from December 2018 to December 2020.
