Former Granite Education Association Associate Director Cindy Formeller has been named the Davis Education Association UniServ director to replace
“Being part of the Davis Education Association team has been a creative and welcoming ‘home’ in my professional journey as an advocate,” said Formeller. “I look forward to teaming with staff and leaders in their efforts in strengthening DEA’s presence in Davis County schools.”
Formeller has worked as a public education advocate for nearly 20 years. Her advocacy career began with the Utah Education Association where she served as the associate for the research, bargaining and political action programs. She was selected to attend the NEA UniServ Pre-employment Development Program in 2005.
Following her training and a brief internship with Granite Education Association, Formeller was hired by the Iowa State Education Association (ISEA) as the director for 48 local associations in north central Iowa. NEA continued to assign her to train other staff members in organizing, crucial conversations and education support professional quality on a national level.
Formeller returned to Utah as an associate director with the Jordan UniServ until she was once again recruited to work with ISEA in 2013. She returned again to Utah in 2015 and served as the Associate Director at GEA until her move to DEA in February 2021.
The Davis UniServ serves educators in Davis School District.
