About the Awards

Excellence in Teaching Awards are presented each year to 10 Utah public school teachers whose efforts in the classroom have significantly impacted the life of an individual child or group of children. The UEA has presented these awards since 2000.

Nominations are accepted for any licensed educator currently employed in a Utah public school. A selection committee including past award winners will review nominations following the nomination deadline.

Nomination deadline for the 2020 UEA/doTERRA Excellence in Teaching Awards was December 8, 2019. Nominations for the 2021 awards will open in August 2020. Winners are carefully chosen by a selection committee that includes winners from the previous year and are announced in April. The awards are presented at the KeyBank Superstars in Education banquet, typically held in May.
