UEA Retired President (Two-Year term)

Trudy Henderson

(As submitted by the candidate.)

The professional association supported me during my years in the classroom. As a retiree, it is time to give back to the Association and continue my strong support of public education. I have enjoyed the past two years serving in the position of UEA-R State President. I am asking for your vote for another term in this office so with the Executive Board we can continue working toward our goals of increased membership, member involvement in the political process, and knowledge of retirement issues.

Trudy Henderson

UEA Retired Vice President (Two-Year term)

Ryan Anderson

(As submitted by the candidate.)

As current UEA-Retired Vice President, I would like another term to continue serving and doing the good work our retired association does. Working actively with our UEA-R Board members in collaboration with UEA Leadership and Staff members is stimulating and fulfilling work effectively benefitting public education generally and our members, communities, parents and students more specifically.

We joke (a bit darkly) at UEA-R, that as retirees our “term limits” are determined by Nature more than by by-laws and I am hopeful to be able to bring to fruition some of what we have begun. As a former long-distance runner I would increase my pace in a race to finish strong; that is my intention working within the next term of UEA-Retired Vice Presidency.

Grateful for my present position, I ask for your vote and support for another two years.

Ryan Anderson

UEA Retired Secretary/Treasurer (Two-Year term)

Keith Tondro

(As submitted by the candidate.)

I am asking for your vote for “At Large Board Member of UEA-R”. I have had the privilege of serving on the Board as Sec/Tres. for the last 2 years. Our organization, UEA-R, has grown in direction and ability to help direct education in the state. I want to be part of that growth to help our membership. I will continue to work on the communication between the Board and our membership. If you have not been receiving “my review of the Board meetings”, so you, the member can stay up to date on what is happening, please e-mail your non-school e-mail address to me and I will include you – . If you have anything you want me to bring to the Board let me know, I will represent you. krtondro@netscape.net

UEA Retired Board of Directors (Two-Year term)

Lynette Grow

(As submitted by the candidate.)

During my educational career, I have always been active in UEA, serving as WEA local president, the UEA Board of Directors, NEA Board of Directors, and numerous committees on all three levels. After retiring in 2013 with 38 years in the classroom, I was elected to the UEA Board of Directors in 2015, currently serving as Membership Chair. Again, I want to bring this experience and history to the UEA Retired Board of Directors for another term. I currently work part time as a mentor/coach for beginning teachers in the Weber School District.

I have attended the last six NEA-Retired Organizing Conferences and garnered many ideas to build organizational capacity within UEA-R which is a rather new group to our advocacy family. I also would bring to this position knowledge about current attacks on public pension retirement systems. This is a crucial issue for both the active and retired organizations as we promote and monitor legislation on Capitol Hill. I would be proud to represent retired members throughout the state and ask for your vote.

UEA Retired At Large Representative

Cindy Quercia (Two-Year term)

(As submitted by the candidate.)

My name is Cindy Quercia and I am running for the position of UEA-Retired Association At Large Representative. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with 36 years of experience, 30 years in Weber School District. I served as the WEA Board of Directors Junior High School Representative for two years (my first year I was appointed to the position.) After retiring in May of 2018, I was asked to serve on the OEA/WEA Uniserv Executive Council as the liason between the local and retired members. I accepted and am active in this position. I also participate on the OEA/WEA PAC Committee. I would like to increase my involvement by serving on the UEA-Retired Board of Directors as an At Large Representative.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to receive your support.
