About the Association's Participation in Elections
Of the Utah candidates recommended by state and local education political action committees (PAC) for the 2018 General Election, more than 80 percent were successful. PAC committees recommend candidates they believe are most likely to have a positive impact on students and issues important to public education employees. National, state and local association political action committees recommended the following candidates for the 2018 General Election. It was a clean sweep for education political action committees (PACs) recommended candidates in the 2018 Primary Election. In the eight elections where state and local PAC committees made recommendations, all eight were successful and will move on to the General Election. "Great work team. This a huge win for public education in Utah," said UEA Government Relations and Political Action Director Chase Clyde. "This is a HUGE win for our association and our political power."
