New Publications, Website Enhance UEA Member Communications
In October 2010, the UEA launched an all-new website especially for UEA members at myUEA.org.
The new site, which replaces utea.org as the primary source for all news and information about the UEA, is a key element in enhancing the UEA’s communication structure as recommended during the UEA Transformation process.Other elements include:
"We are very excited about the improved look, navigation and content the new website provides," said Mike Kelley, UEA director of communication and public relations. "Combined with changes in our publications, we hope UEA members will feel connected with their Association and become involved in the blogs and other new networking options available."
The first issue of the UEA Action e-newsletter was e-mailed to all members in November 2010. The January 2011 issue of the UEA Action Digest is the first of the new print publications, which will be mailed to all members three times per year. In addition, the UEA Action Bulletin will be e-mailed on an as-needed basis with urgent messages and updates.
The new myUEA.org website is more dynamic and user-friendly with easy-to-find resources on everything from teaching tips, to current education news, to UEA policies and research, to member deals and discounts. From the new homepage, members can access site content organized into easy-to-navigate sections, current news articles about Utah public education, web resources and a UEA calendar, among other features.
The site features a “For Members” section containing everything from publications and legal services, to member benefits and special teacher deals and discounts. The site also has sections dedicated to leaders and staff—with new information added regularly. The new website also highlights social media with links to UEA’s Facebook and Twitter pages, expanded access to video, and a new blog feature.
Anyone who currently has a bookmark or links from another website to the old utea.org site is encouraged to update those links to the new site as soon as possible. The old site will remain available for a few weeks, but will not be updated.
"Our goal is to continually improve our communications, and especially the experience UEA members have when visiting myUEA.org. We encourage everyone to take some time to look around the new site and provide us with feedback." said Kelley. The UEA’s member website has changed to the all-new myUEA.org. The new site replaces utea.org as the primary source for all news and information about the Utah Education Association.
